Nothing is more frustrating than to come home from a long day of work to find that your dog has urinated on your bed! For the first three years of JoJo's life, we did not allow her on the couch or the bed. And then one day, we just let it go...thinking that she was mature enough to handle it. Wrong. Little by little she began to act like she owned the place. Then one day, yellow spot, right on my pillow. Unfortunately, because the way her doggy door is situated, it runs through our room, closing the door was not an option for when we went to work. So we first tried putting a bunch of pillows on the bed to make it high and that did nothing. In fact, she looked more comfortable when we got home. Then we covered the bed with a plastic mattress cover before we left for work. No problem for JoJo...she'd simply drag away a little corner and make a nice warm nest. FINALLY, one day while I was cooking, I pulled out some tin foil and, like JoJo always does, she ran away. AH HA! Tin foil is her ultimate fear! Ever since that day, we simply put a piece of tin foil on the bed (see pic) and it works like a charm. We don't even need the plastic anymore. So, find your dog's weak point and use it wisely. Later I found out that tin foil is the basis for a marketed product. I guess I saved myself 60 bucks.
